Developers want to build houses on this land which, I think, will cause irreparable damage to the watercourse, the area and the area.

With a look behind the scenes at test wall samples. Originally the Barbican was to be tiled in white marble, but as cost was an issue they trialed a number of surface finishes which ended in the drilling of the concrete to give the rough more natural look.

The River Loddon that runs East from Basingstoke,

The River Loddon that runs East from Basingstoke, is just one of a handful of chalk streams in the world. There are only 200 streams that bubble out of chalk like this. It's clear and cold water is lovely on a day like today to paddle and get out of the hot sun.

It's been dammed in several places near its source and was used to raise fish to feed the inhabitants of Old Basing House hundreds of years ago. In places its still used to grow water cress.
